Women have gathered together to tend and befriend since the dawn of time. When we are together our bodies release more oxytocin (the natural love and happiness drug), oxytocin helps relieve stress and is wonderful for our overall well-being. That age old saying “It takes a village” carries deep meaning for women. We need to come together in birth, in end of life and to support each other in all that happens in between. We have lost many of the benefits of gathering through the isolation of the modern world. Which is why women’s circles are on the rise globally. They have been for sometime but now more than ever are we seeing and hearing the calling of a great shift. Women are returning to this ancient ritual and opening to the benefits of modern application. The modern application addresses the complications of life in the modern world. We now must learn how to hold space safely and responsibly in parallel to the ancient ritual of circle.
